Meet, Angie, self-confessed "exercise freak"! But Angie is much more than that...She has donated some of her time to help run our Stretching station for Spin For Life, at 11 a.m..Read on...
My name is Angie Choo. My story begins with being a lazy girl, full of excuses for avoiding exercise about 2 years back.My turning point came about when I was graduating. I vividly remember that just before my convocation at the Shangri-La Hotel on September 2006, I visited many places to look for just an ordinary white long sleeve blouse. To my astonishment, most of the shops I went to did not carry my size. Finally, I could barely fit into a double XL white long sleeves blouse for this special day. All the photos taken from this event turned to look terrible...
I was happy on one hand and sad on the other. This resulted in my telling myself deep inside that something had to change and as such, I resorted to starting a healthy diet and a regular exercise program.
I joined Planet Fitness then, True Fitness now.. With my determination, perseverance despite pain, tiredness, etc. I am now a regular "gym goer"! I visit the gym most days of the week and participate in various programs, Spinning, combat, pump, cardio shape, pilates, yoga, running and even weight training!
I even took up running last year, inspired by our amazing gym instructor who gave up her personal time to encourage us to run. I have ran 4 runs (Safra Bay Run, GE Women Run, Shape Women Run and the Standard Chartered Run) last year and will be doing the GE run on 1 Nov as well as the Standard Chartered run in Dec 2009. I have also managed to get a handful more people to run this year.
With my newly gained enthusiasm for sports, I have also completed a Yoga Course for teachers and have successfully graduated with a grade of A+ for my Diploma in Yoga with Dr. Venky Shivshakti Yoga Institution (International) India which is also affliated to the International Yoga Federation in April 2009. I have always believed that Sports and a healthy lifestyle is for life. So, why wait, my fellow friends? - Spin for life and Spin for charity!
Thank you for your time Angie! So when you need to stretch after your Spin session, make your way to the Spin for Life stretch Area!
